Первый прототип Convair XB-36 Peacemaker (42-13570) с первоначальным вариантом основного шасси, по одному гигантскому колесу на каждой стойке. Шины, изготовленные компанией Goodyear, имели диаметр 2,79 м и ширину 91 см. Каждая такая шина весила около 600 кг. Несмотря на огромные размеры колеса, давление на покрытие взлётно-посадочной полосы оказалось настолько высоким, что XB-36 мог безопасно эксплуатироваться лишь …

Продолжение съёмки кинооператора Ганса Бастаньера из состава роты пропаганды. Съёмка велась в полосе наступления 6-й армии в ходе летней кампании 1942 года на южном участке советско-германского фронта. Кадры входят в фильм Rußlandfeldzug Südfront Sommer 1942. Был ли идентифицирован пилот не знаю, но можно будет на досуге поискать информацию в жбд разведотделов дивизий 6-й армии по допросам пленных. @Alte_Adler | #…
