غالبًا ما يتعلّم الناس كيف يعاملونك من المكانة التي يمنحك إياها أقرب الناس إليك. فإذا نشأت في بيئةٍ تحفظ لك قدرك، وتُشعرك بقيمتك، كان من الصعب على الآخرين أن ينتقصوا منك. أما إذا اعتاد الإنسان أن يُهمَّش في محيطه، فقد يجرؤ بعض الناس على معاملته بالطريقة نفسها.
