عاشوراء هو اليوم العاشر من محرم ، وصيامه سنة مؤكدة ؛ لأنه يُكفّر ذنوب سنة ماضية، كما قال النبي ﷺ : "صيام يوم عاشوراء أحتسب على الله أن يكفّر السنة التي قبله". وسببه أن الله أنجى فيه موسى وقومه، فصامه النبي شكراً لله ، و أمرنا بصيامه مخالفةً لليهود ، و الأفضل أن تصوموا معه التاسع أو الحادي عشر، و إن صمت العاشر فقط أجزأك بإذن الله
