Как же я ошибался.
Я молчу уже про учеников в колледже — им дай слово, а они в ответ неуважение. Я понимаю, что у них «puberty» и все такое, но следить за своей речью никто не запрещал. Я то думал, некоторые девочки будут поумнее и отнесутся спокойнее к жертвам эволюции.
Дети. Эти маленькие, вечно орущие комки плоти слишком часто путаются под ногами. Они верят, что мир вращается вокруг их мокрых носов, хотя это далеко не так. И вместо того, чтобы преподать им нормальный урок, мне приходится наблюдать за этой возней с утра до вечера.

Я почти задремал. Тело уже отключилось, но сознание всё ещё цеплялось за реальность, как утопающий за соломинку. Трава пахла так, как пахнет только в середине лета, с нотками земли и ночной прохлады. Я слышал его голос сквозь пелену сна: слова долетали до меня будто сквозь воду, но я всё равно улавливал суть. Про прошлое, про то, что он тоже не умеет загадывать желания.
