How does Sinwar's selection effect Iran? Sinwar’s appreciation for Iran’s support is well-documented. He was likely Tehran’s preferred candidate to succeed Ismail Haniyeh as Hamas’ chief, and Iran may have several reasons for backing Sinwar.
