كان من دُعاء النبي ﷺ: "وأسألُك قُرَّةَ عينٍ لا تنقطع" وقُرَّة العين قيل: معناها بَردُها، وانقطاعُ بُكائِها واستِحرارها بالدَّمع؛ فإنَّ للسُّرورِ دَمعةً باردةً، وللحُزن دمعة حارَّة، وقيل: هو من القرار أي: رأَت ما كانت مُتشوِّقة إليه، فقَرَّت ونامت!.
