"ألحُّوا في الدعاء، لأن في ترك السؤال شائبة الكبر والتعالي، وكأن العبد قد استغنى بما عنده، وليس ذلك له، بل هو إلى مولاه في كل حين فقير، فإن الله جلَّ وعزَّ يحب أن يُسأل من فضله، ويُرغب إليه في العطاء، فمن أعرض عن سؤاله فقد زاغ قلبه عن مقام العبودية، ولم يُقرَّ بفقره إلى ربه، فيورثه ذلك مقتًا وبُعدًا، فإن المبغوض من الله لا يكون إلا مغضوبًا عليه، ولا محيد له عن سخطه، ومن حُرم فضل الله، فلا خير يُرجى له بعد ذلك".
