Do not abandon dhikr because you are unable to be fully present with Allah during it, for your neglect of dhikr altogether is worse than your lack of presence while making dhikr. Perhaps He will raise you from remembering Him with heedlessness to remembering Him with wakefulness, and from remembering Him with wakefulness to remembering Him with true presence
