*בכל התנ"ך כולו* לא תמצא את האותיות ג-ס סמוכות זו לזו. כן ציין אחי המהר"ל ב"ספר החיים". הסיבה לכך – הוא כותב - משום שצירופן של שתי אותיות אלו יוצר את המילה *גס,* והקב"ה שונא למי שהוא גס רוח. כמו כן, האותיות ג-ט גם הן אינן מופיעות זו בצד זו בכל התנ"ך, ומכיון שהם תמיד נפרדות, מתאימות הן לשמש ככינוי לדבר המפריד בין בעל ואשתו, ומכאן השם גט לשטר גירושין. כן כתב הגר"א בספרו "דברי אליהו".
