الطريق إلى القرآن لا يخلو من ابتلاء، فالقرآن عزيز، ومن عزّته أنه لا يضمّه قلبٌ لا يستحقّه، فتأتي الابتلاءات لتُنقّي هذا القلب؛ ليكون وعاءً صالحًا، ويكون أهلًا لأن يحمل كلام الله!

فاستعجال زوال البلاء مع تقدير مدته لا ينفع؛ فالواجب الصبر، وإن كان الدعاء مشروعا، ولا ينفع إلا به. إلا أنه لا ينبغي للداعي أن يستعجل، بل يتعبد بالصبر والدعاء، والتسليم إلى الحكيم، ويقطع المواد التي كانت سببا للبلاء، فإن غالب البلاء أن يكون عقوبة. فأما المستعجل، فمزاحم للمدبر، وليس هذا مقام العبودية؛ وإنما المقام الأعلى هو الرضا، والصبر هو اللازم، والتلاجي (الالتجاء). ابن الجوزي- صيد الخاطر
