عن أبي الصامت قال: سمعت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) وهو يقول : (من أتى قبر الحسين عليه السلام ما شياً كتب الله له بكل خطوة ألف حسنة ومحى عنه ألف سيئة ورفع له الف درجة . ( وفي رواية اخرى عن أبي سعيد القاضي قال: دخلت على أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) في غريفة له وعنده مرازم فسمعت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) يقول: (من أتى قبر الحسين عليه السلام ما شياً كتب الله له بكل قدم يرفعها ويضعها عتق رقبه من ولد اسماعيل)
ذكرت بعض مصادر التاريخ أن سبايا آل الرسول (صلى الله عليه وآله) طلبوا من الوفد الموكل بحراستهم أن يعرج بهم إلى كربلاء ليجددوا عهدا بقبر سيد الشهداء (عليه السلام)، فلبى الوفد طلبهم فانعطفوا بهم إلى كربلاء، ولما انتهوا إليها استقبلن العلويات مرقد أبي عبد الله الحسين (عليه السلام) بالصراخ والعويل وسالت الدموع كل مسيل وقضين أياما ثلاثة كن من أثقل الليالي وأوجعها على أهل البيت فلم تهدأ لهم عبرة حتى بحت الأصوات وتفتت القلوب
