Версия пятая. Опасная IPA было пивом пиратов. IPA настолько ценили в колониях, что пираты охотились за кораблями с этим пивом, а британские офицеры готовы были делать что угодно ради защиты бочки. Хотите верьте, хотите нет, но все так и было!

Версия четвертая. У нас есть автор! У IPA был свой гений-изобретатель. Долгое время главным героем этой истории был лондонский пивовар Джордж Ходжсон. По легенде, именно он придумал идеальную формулу: больше хмеля, больше крепости — и пиво, которое выдержит путешествие через океан. Правда, историки считают, что всё было сложнее: скорее всего, IPA появился постепенно, а Ходжсон просто оказался одним из самых успешны…

Версия третья. Вы все не правильно поняли. Это просто пиво для Индии. Эспортное. Специальное. Ну вы что! Тем более это самая распространенная версия. Столько людей не могут ошибаться. Ну и если коротко: британские пивовары отправляли Pale Ale на индийский рынок, поэтому его стали называть India Pale Ale. Не индийское пиво, а пиво, предназначенное для Индии.

Версия вторая. Очень логичная IPA придумали в Индии. Название India Pale Ale легко вводит в заблуждение. На Reddit идут знатные споры: А может это действительно было индийское изобретение, которое потом забрали себе британцы? Исторических подтверждений нет, но согласитесь, звучит как отличный поворот сюжета.

Версия первая. Морская! Это море сделало пиво особенным. Пиво ехало месяцами в деревянных бочках, чаще всего в Индию. Жара, качка, перепады температуры… Есть те, кто верит, что именно это путешествие меняло вкус пива и создавало тот самый характер IPA Доказательств немного, но звучит как отличная история для моряков 🍻
