أمّا بَعد: فَإنّك لا تَنال مَا ترِيد إلّا بِتركِ مَا تشتَهي، وَ لن تبلُغ مَا تَأمُل، إلّا بالصَّبر علىٰ مَا تكرَه، فَليكُن قَولك ذِكرًا، وَ صمتُك فِكرًا، وَ نظرُك عِبرة، وَ اعلَم أنَّ أعجزَ النَّاس مَن أتْبَع نفسَه هَواها وَ تمنّىٰ علىٰ اللَّه، وَ أن أكْيَسَهم مَن أتعَب نفسَه وَ عمِلَ لمَا بعدَ المَوت. مِن سَلـمان الفَارسي إلىٰ أبِي الدَّرداء رضي الله عنهما.
مقهىً، وأَنت مع الجريدة جالسٌ في الركن منسيّاً، فلا أَحد يُهين مزاجَكَ الصافي، ولا أَحَدٌ يُفكرُ باغتيالكْ كم أنت منسيٌّ وحُرٌّ في خيالك!

وَمَاذَا بِمِصرَ مِنَ المُضحِكَاتِ وَلَكِنَّهُ ضَحِكٌ كَالبُكَا المتنبي.
