Так відбувається через те, що слова, що закінчуються на -us зазвичай мають латинське походження і для створення множини це закінчення потрібно змінити на -i focus —> foci locus —> loci torus —> tori cactus —> cacti Хоча це не завжди працює, оскільки у слова genus, наприклад, множиною є genera, а status та apparatus взагалі не змінюються. Ех ностальгія, може мені знову стати мовознавчим гіком 🤔
