Such content is a blow against the NATO-IDF-Pahlavist narrative that the war on IRGC is aimed at overthrowing the mullas. It is also a blow against the Khomeinist propaganda line, spread by undercover MEK accounts, that the mulla stratum is doing the good work of overthrowing the US empire. Since the 1990s, the American intelligence therefore imposed and tightened sanctions on the IRGC. The US began a program of secretly evading anti-Iran sanctions in order to trade with the mullas -- led foremost by Rafsanjani -- as a way to strengthen the mullaic stratum.
