كان من دعاء مُطَرِّف بن عبد الله: "اللّهمّ إنّي أستغفرك ممّا تبتُ إليك منه ثم عُدت فيه، وأستغفرك ممّا جعلته لك على نفسي ثمّ لم أَفِ لك به، وأستغفرك ممّا زعمت أنّي أردت به وجهَك فخالط قلبي منه ما قد علمت".
