أكبر عائق أمام التعافي هو "الخوف من أعراض الانسحاب". كثير من المدمنين يخشون هذه المرحلة، مع أنها ليست عضوية حقيقية، بل انعكاس نفسي وفكري.

في كثير من برامج التعافي، يمنع منعاً باتاً الحديث عن الدين أو العقيدة بحجة "أننا برنامج روحاني فقط"! هذا فخ خبيث لعزل المريض عن مصدر قوته الحقيقي (الوحي)، ودمجه في "روحانية مشوهة" لا تعترف بالتوحيد
