قال الحكيم الترمذي ذِكْرُ اللَّه على وجوه: الأوَّلُ: ذِكرُه بالتَّوحيد، والثَّاني ذِكرُه بالأمر والنَّهي، والثَّالثُ: ذِكرُه عند كلِّ نعمةٍ في الدِّين والدُّنيا، والرَّابعُ: ذِكرهُ بالمنَّة، والخامسُ: ذِكرُه بالتَّدبير، والسَّادسُ: ذِكرُه بالمحبَّة، والسَّابعُ: ذِكرُه بالوَلَه، والثَّامنُ: ذِكرهُ بالشَّوق إليه، والتاسع: ذِكرُه بالاتِّصال، والعاشرُ: ذِكرُه بالمراعاةِ على الدَّوام.
{وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ} وقال الإمام أبو منصور رحمه الله: دلَّ سؤالُ التَّوبةِ أنَّ الأنبياء قد يكون منهم الزَّلَّاتُ والعَثَراتُ على غير قصدٍ منهم. ثمَّ فيه الدَّليلُ على أنَّ العبد يُسأَل عن زلَّةٍ لم يتعمَّدها؛ لأنَّهم سَألوا التَّوبةَ مُجمَلًا، ولو كان سبقَ منهم شيءٌ عَلِموا به وعرفوه؛ لذكرُوه، فدلَّ سؤالُهم التَّوبةَ مجملًا على أنَّ العبدَ مسؤولٌ عن زَلَّاتٍ لم يَتعمَّدها.
وقال الإمامُ أبو منصورٍ رحمه الله: فإن قيل: كيف كان قولُه: {لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ} جوابًا لقوله: {وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي}، وكانت الرسالة في ذرِّيَّته، قال تعالى: {وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةً بَاقِيَةً فِي عَقِبِهِ} [الزخرف: 28]؟ قيل: يَحتملُ قولُه: {وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي} أنَّه أحبَّ أن تكون الرسالةُ تدومُ في ذرِّيَّته أبدًا، حتى لا يكون بين الرُّسُل فتراتٌ، فأخبرَ أنَّ في ذرَّيته مَن هو ظالمٌ، فلا ينالُ الظالمُ عهدَهُ…

ذكر سيدي الشيخ أحمد بن عجيبة: أن سيدنا الشيخ الشعراني كتب إلى شيخ له بالمغرب، يشكو أذى الخلق له... فكتب له الشيخ، "لا تشتغل بمن يؤذيك قط، و اشتغل مع الله أن يرده عنك، فقد أخطأ في هذا الأمر خلق كثير، و اشتغلوا بمن آذاهم، فطال الأذى مع الإثم، ولو أنهم رجعوا إلى الله لكفاهم أمرهم ولردهم عنهم، والسلام".
